Dialup Settings
Vista Setup- Go to the Control Panel from the Start Menu
- Click on "Network and Internet"
- Click on "Network and Sharing Center"
- Click on "Set up a connection or network" under Tasks
- Select "Set up a dial-up connection"
- Use the following configuration settings
Dial-up phone number: XXX 5800 - Milbank 3985800 - Watertown 818 5800
- User name: Yourlogin
- Password: Your RC password
- Connection Name: RC
- Click "Create"
Trouble shooting an existing dialup connection
Go to Start, Settings, Control Panel, Internet Options, Connections
- Under the "Dialup and Virtual Private Network Settings, there should be a "tnics" icon (or named with the phone number that your computer dials or it may even be named RC Technologies) Make sure the options "Always dial my default connection" is chosen.
- Click on the "settings" tab. Verify that your username is correct (lowercase letters).....you may want to re-type the password just to be sure that it is correctly. (You may notice that more characters in the password field, this is a Windows security precaution)
- Click on the "Properties" tab to the right of your username
- Verify that the local phone number is correct and a local number from where your computer is dialing from (i.e 6375800 or RC Telephone XXX-5800; Milbank- 3985800; Watertown-8185800
- Click on the "Network" tab
- Internet Protocol, TCP/IP and Client for Microsoft Networks should be checked(Qos Packet Scheduler my be as well)
- Click on "Internet Protocol, TCP/IP and choose "Properties"
- Obtain IP automacally is the default setting which is correct
- Click on "Use the following DNS Server Addresses:
- Primary DNS 10.10.100.1
- Secondary DNDS 10.10.100.2
- Click OK.....all the way back to the Control Panel and try your connection again.
