Email Setup

Vista's Windows Mail 

From the Start menu, click the E-mail Windows Mail icon.

  1. Click Tools, then select Accounts.
  2. In the Internet Accounts window, click Add.
  3. Select E-mail Account, then click Next.
  4. Enter Display name (example - John Doe), then click Next.
  5. Enter E-mail address (yourusername@tnics.com) - then click Next.
  6. Select POP3 from the drop down menu.
  7. Incoming.......pop3.tnics.com
  8. Outgoing.......smtp.tnics.com
  9. Click Next
  10. Enter the RC email username and password that gave to RC
  11. Select or deselect the "remember password" box, depending on preferences.
  12. Click Next.
  13. Choose...Do not download my e-mail at this time, then click Finish.

Outlook Express

  1. Name...................Your Name ( see example)
  2. E-mail Address youremailaddress@tnics.com
  3. Incoming Mail Server (Pop 3)......pop3.tnics.com
  4. Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP)......smtp.tnics.com
  5. Account Name ......... Your Login/Username
  6. Password.................***********
  7. Finish

Thunderbird

Add Account
Select - Email Account
  1. Name...................Your Name
  2. E-mail Adress youremailaddress@tnics.com
  3. Incoming Mail Server - pop3.tnics.com (check use global InBox ) - Next
  4. Incoming server name...yourlogin 
  5. Outgoing server name...yourlogin - Next
  6. Account name...............yourlogin - Finish

 Edit your OUTGOING Mail Server settings

  • Discription is blank
  • Server Name--smtp.tnics.com
  • Port 25 ( 465 if Wildblue or laptop outside tnics.com)
  • NO check in Use Name and Password (check if outside tnics.com and username@tnics.com and password)
  • Use secure connection -  NO (SSL if Wildlbue or outside tnics.com)

Secure SSL 

If using a laptop for travel or for Wildblue users, the mail server settings need to be changed to use SSL...

Choose PROPERTIES - SERVERS
  • Check box... "Outgoing Mail server requires authentication" - APPLY -
  • Click SETTINGS - select Log On using

Enter youremail@tnics.com and your password - Apply

Click ADVANCED...

  • Check the box "OUTGOING mail requires SSL" 
  • Then change to "use port 465"
  • Click APPLY and OK
